why not go for Gigabyte's Slent pipeII 7600gt?

I've been eyeing it as part of a full system upgrade (to AM2) , it is only a bit more expensive, but probably worth it.

but the back to the orig. Q, mostly like yes. If it can cool my 9800pro then it should cool a 7600gt

The Silent Pipe II would be my pick,
Since I already have a vm-101, i might as well use it.
Besides, I have more options on cards that way.

It sure can. 7600GT is only consuming 35watt. The aerocool VM 101 has been successfully tested even with 6800GT whixh consumes 55watt.
I think with a 7600GT it would be pretty cool!!

Since I own an aerocool VM101 and 7600GT AGP from Leadtek is out , I want to give it a shot.
My only concern is this :

Is VM101 compatible with 7600GT ? I mean can we put it or are there different holes in the card?

It'll cope with the heat without doubt (I'm cooling a 7900GT with a VM-101, a 7600GT should be no problem).

This has been asked a number of times, and I don't remember exact answer here so you'll have to look it up yourself. Part of the problem is that AGP 7600GT cards use PCI-E -> AGP bridge, so you might have fitting problems. If you can get past the bridge problem you'll be able to cool it.

Second "potential" problem is VM101 uses 3mm screws, I say potential because I don't know what diameter mounting holes 7600GT uses, but if it's less than 3mm you'll have to tinker with it first.
