VF900 vs 7900GT stock

Is the VF900 much more quiet/cool than the stock 7900GT fan? I just feel sort of guilty buying a new $400 card and ripping the hs/fan off of it. At the moment it idles at 41 and generally goes up to around 50 under load. The thing I hate about the stock though is it ramps up the fan speed under even the smallest load which is fairly audible in a p180. Any opinions? Thanks!

Not sure about the amount of noise the stock cooler puts out, but the VF900 is pretty quiet on low, and drops the GPU temp by around 10C when coupled with AS5.

The stock 7900gt cooler is loud!

The VF900 is a much better and quieter cooler.
