They make noise, too.

Good God that cooler looks sexy. From looks of it, the fan seems to be PMW-controlled 80mm fan with dual heatpipes. I think I found my game rigs VGA card.

Pretty neat looking. I wonder how good the fan will be though, skimming through the review i didn't see the fan brand name.

that is really kewl looking!

but performance-wise it probably can't beat this 'stock' quad heatpipe 8800gt.

I doubt it will. But review said card ran over 10 degree's C cooler with new cooler than with reference one. And it shows in over cloking potential.

Too bad ECSgroup is brand unavaileble in FInland. But we ought to get Gainward's in January.

There's even a version with 1 GB memory arriving at OcUK tomorrow:

That ECS card appears to be just an 8800GT with Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 and turbo module fitted though?

Looking at the OCuk prices you're paying quite a lot for the Gainward Bliss card: £200 for the 512mb version and £223 for the 1gb card. There isn't a huge overclock on the cards either.

When you consider you can buy a stock 8800GT 512mb for £162, or a 8800GTS 512mb for £209 plus the Accelero S1 cooler for £14.39 it's better value to go for a cheap card and overclock it yourself. :)

Where does all the hot air go? It sounded to me from the review that the fan drew air in from the slot and the front of the card and blew onto the GPU. This means that the hot air would exhaust into the case.

I will see situation in 2nd week of January. Currently competition are:

HD 3870 (now 2nd one later to make HD 3870 Crossfire... sheeh that will cost)

GF 8800GT generic and test my luck if I get improved 15 blader

8800GT without reference cooler ( gainward etc )

8800 GTS G92 non-OC version. I might go this to ger definately quiet cooling solution and enough horse powers for the years to come.

P.S. in Here GoldenSample Gainward is 269€'s while standard 8800GT is roughly 220 to 250 €'s and Evga's OC models as high as 309 €'s with OC 2 version and Crysis Bundle.... And Asus' 8800GTS G92 non-OC costs 309€'s :P

Hi everyone,

and what do you think of this model ?

8800 GT with low profile (seems to me, correct ?) and 9 blader large vent.

Can't find any comment on the net though ...

Anyone heard of it ?

http://www.gainward.com/product/product ... cts_id=145

The other models with heat pipes will never fit in my antec fusion case,

thank you for your opinion.

i was thinking about gainward soulution, but there is no chance to get 8800GT GS GLH edition in Poland. 'normal' GS with 2 heatpipes costs 278euro which is a bit high. instead of it ive got new 8800GTS by BFG (for 260euro) and with little tweaking i was able to configure autofan to achive what i want - silence in 2D at 40% and about 62C, and 89C at 3D 52% which is still acceptable especially when you play and sound is on (no head phones, no high volume). even 55% is still ok when you play, but above its not so nice. i wont overclock - every game i play runs more than ok, and even with oc crysis is still unplayable with AA on, so there is no sense to do it (1024x768 high have to be enough with 30-40fps all the time). so if you have choice what to buy consider that GTS stock cooler is ok. its a bit shame that they didnt improve 7900GTX cooler idea which for me is one of the best gpu coolers - on stock fan didnt ever ramp up from 39% speed. it will be nice if someone silence-oriented will test gainward GT with this two slot heatpipe cooler.

There you go, ofcourse I had to take the Gainward Bliss 8800GT Golden Sample apart right when it was delivered to me. The bad news are that the thermal paste was once again rock solid and there was a sticker that stated I no longer have warranty... Well... Screw that, I didn't have one to begin with, anyway.

The fan is made by Power Logic, its model is PLA08015B12M, it's 80 mm in diameter and specified at 12 Volts 0,10 A. In use the card is very quiet indeed. I can't say any actual measurements as I don't have an accurate dB-meter, but even while gaming it really kept quiet. It might still be worth waiting for someone elses opinion as I may have been deafened by the boxed cooler of my new E6750 and the 8800GTS, but as far as I can tell, the cooler is quietest stock VGA-cooler that I have heard.

(the thread had been death for one month, but I think some may still be interested in this card...)

thejamppa: ECS 8800GT is available in Finland: Clicky
I bought mine from there. 20-30 euros more expensive than cheapest 512mb 8800 gt and S1 bought separately, but then again with this there won't be any problems with warranty if it's needed.
Have to say that I don't particularly like the Turbo Module though. Cooling is ok as are the noise levels, but the mounting mechanism is just too flimsy for my liking.. I'll probaby put a 120mm fan on it instead.

Edit: noticed that your post was 2 months ago.. oh well.

Guys, and what do you think on this baby - Gainward 9600GT GS. I do hope it performs as well as the one on GLH. Seems pretty similar to me. As I own a 7900GTX my expectations are high, and I'll agree with my man cienislaw that the stock cooler on 7900GTX is probably the best active factory cooler yet. Please post if you have info on the cooler on 9600GT. I'm all itching to jump at it...

Metku reviewed Gainward 8800 GT 1 GB GoldenSample edition with same cooler vs XFX's 8800 GTS.

"The fan used here is made by Power Logic, its model is PLA08015B12M, it's 80 mm in diameter and specified at 12 Volts 0,10 A (1,2 W)."

Go figure how I posted the same information about the fan and a very familiar looking image a week before the review came out ;)

I can warmly recommend any Gainward cards with that cooler to everyone looking for a graphic card that's quiet out-of-the-box. The 1024 MB memory seems like total waste, but the 512 MB (GLH?) version on the other hand is a very tempting choice.
