runs just damn hot... But its nothing that putting like scythe slips stream 500 near the card blowing towards it... 1GB... that's bit overshot... the 256-bit memory interface will come first as limit more than the memory amount in many cases... Like in new g92 GTS the 256-bit memory interface was the bottle neck in most tests just with 512mb. If it would have had wider memory interface like old GTS, I am sure then it would have been serious threat to GTX and Ultras.

I personally think 1 GB memory for 8800GT and GTS are just selling gimmick. To fully utilize that amount memory effectively bandwith should be wider.

First card that can be expected fully benefit for 1 GB memory are upcomming 9800-series.

I can't wait for all the l33t gAm3rz to discover that their 3XTR3M3!!!! SLI rig has just removed 2GB of address space from their computer.

At least it should make for a nice run of ad hits for people who run sites catering to spoiled children or sites explaining the badly outdated memory model left over from the 8088 architecture. :)

Integrated graphics for the win. Two of my three computers use them, and the only reason my third doesn't is because it has two monitors and an integrated chipset that doesn't support that.

Hey now, be nice to gamers and kids. Just cause they play Crysis doesn't mean they are spoiled. If it wasn't for PC gamers buying up high end cards, there wouldn't be anything decent integrated or low-mid range discrete either.

As thejamppa has said already, 1GB is useless on G92 series because of the 256bit bus. Sort of like 8500GT 512MB which is no faster than 6600GT 128MB. Save your money and buy 8800GT with 512MB instead.

on behalf of spoiled children - don't be hatin

gamerz and spoiled children are pplz too

actually; this piece is not really for gamers; and not for overclockers, that's for sure - heat-pipe or not, it would run too hot in a case full of high-end components. put it on full load and you need quite an exhaust to get rid of the heat.
