9600 GT & 9800 GT Green Edition's

I have noticed that both of these card's have "green editions"

I would prefer to go with a 9600/9800 over the 4670 & 4830 due to the CUDA support, trouble is I can't find any power consumption numbers for these card's.

Has anyone had any luck finding them?

argh yes i found some a while ago, lemme look again. they were pretty impressive as memory serves me.

here we go:
http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm? ... 384&page=3
http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/hard ... _gt_eco/5/

second link has 9800gt 'eco' figures as well as 9600gt 'eco'

much more impressive to me was the new radeon 4830 revision that was both faster AND used less power than a 4770, but none are currently available in the usa.

Thanks for that!

The 9800 GT looks to be the best value card there.

I would opt for the 4830 but I have huge amount of transcoding to do so cuda is more importaint than gaming performance at the monment.

Cheers, Ryan

What was with their argument about how the card "violates the 75W limit of the PCIe slot?" At the peak, the graph seems to show less power consumption than cards that should be using less than 75W, based on other reviews... no? Perhaps their measurements of the individual card's consumption is inaccurate? It would be interesting to see a heads-up comparison of the 9600GT, 9800GT, and HD4830 "green"/eco/etc editions.

EDIT: Or maybe never mind? I was thinking about the reviews I've seen of the green 9600/9800GT's when thinking about the peak power, while Techpowerup is presumably using the ol' stock 9600/9800GT's (the latter of which is about 110W at peak). That seems to make more sense now... So, the HD4830 might not be bad, but the Green 9600/9800GT's still have their place.

I'm using a club3d 9600 green edition on my mini-itx system:

commell lv-678
intel q9400s
2x2gb ddrII teamgroup xtreem
2x2,5" western digital scorpio black
1x bc-5600s

powered by pico psu 150w.

the card run good: the fan run only at 35%, but the temp are low: also the power consumption is low (it's around 135w @ sull load cpu+gpu): also you can overclock the vga till 9600gt stock frequencies:

Do you have power measurements before using the 9600 GT?

no, sorry; but the additonal wattage of the videocard should be less than 60w.
