what's the least hot card of these 4670 vs GT220 vs 9400GT

I don't have any gaming requiremetns from the card.

Just want something simple with dual dvi (or dvi + hdmi) which i can cool passively and run win7.

Also want the PCB to be black (match the rest of the hardware color wise)..

So thought of the XFX brand..

I can try and make my own silent cooling, just need to know which of these is the least hot one.

I would have taken their 4350 but doesn't seem like it's available online in places i trust for good service.

Probably the 9400 uses the least power under load, but the 4670 has power management that cuts its idle power consumption to about 8 watts. Passive 9400's can be had for under $50.

4670: TDP = 70 Watt (other source: 59 Watt).

GT220: TDP = 58 Watt.

9400GT: TDP = 50 Watt.

There are some differences in power saving technologies, if you don't play games, the card will perform at idle or slightly higher power most of the time. In that case the 4670 does sound good.

You've to consider three things concerning VGA's temp:
1. VGA Card's power consumption.
2. VGA Card's cooler design.
3. Airflow -- even the least amount of airflow would do VGA cooling a great favor.

Were I you, I'd purchase 4350 or 9400 that has a big heatsink on it. Afterwards, I will try to conduct/manage case's airflow to improve card's temp. That said, I favor 4350 since it is cheaper and has more mature driver compared to 9400.
