Wonder when their gonna get it? I'm going wait and see what reviews of it say... think it's worth the wait and extra money (over C version) just lookin at it.
SPCR, you gonna ask Newegg to send you an example as soon as they get some?

Then it's been out for about 4 months, unless you meant June or July.Arcanthis wrote:Due out late Feb'04, might want to hold off if you're thinking of getting a ZM80C...

You can find more pics of the 80D here

Although it's more expensive. I am somewhat skeptical of it's cooling capabilities, though. It is noticeably slimmer, and thus I am worrying that the heatsink isn't *big* enough or has enough capacity to cool, oh, say, an X800XT. ~.~
But then again I probably can just go with watercooling, since I already have my Reserator.

$7 more and includes RAMsinks. That's a bargain.
As far as cooling, we'll just have to see. Esepcially with slow passive and near passive cooling, they basically have to find a balance on mass, material and surface area. It could very well do a better job--I imagine it will.
In my case, there is plenty of air going over it, and I get GPU temps into the 90s with the C. It needs to get it to the surface of the plates faster. Both plates are quite hot when gaming, so it is doing the job, just not quite fast enough. Maybe the D can do it.

Personally what I think it needs is some kind of ducting. Perhaps if it had some kind of copper ducting that lead to a cyclone fan in the PCI slot adjacent to it, that way you could quietly suck air out of it via cyclone fan, yet not have anything as monsterous or strange as that huge 120mm split across the 2 sides of the PCB.
