Post by Sephiroth1738 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 3:05 pm

I just bought a Dell E521 and was looking for a computer case online for it so I could change it, but all the ones I find are the opposite in the back? Can anyone tell me where to get a dell e521 computer case? THANKS

Hello and welcome to SPCR,

The Dell is a BTX case, while most retail cases are ATX. There are a few BTX available though, I think.

NewEgg BTX cases

Why do you want to change out the case?

Well, you'll want to find out if Dell has done anything proprietary, that might prevent you from just transplanting it...

Nope, no IM.

I'm not sure if Dell is using a propritary BTX shaped motherboards, but historically, I have side by side compared a Dell ATX motherboard to a standard ATX case and they were not compatible.

Since the case has some plastics, you can try your hand at dyeing them for some really bizzard color schemes. http://case-mods.linear1.org/im-high-on-vinyl-dye/
