I was looking at the Dell sound pressure numbers at http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1 ... redirect=2

The Optiplex 5040 mt has a 19.2 sound pressure at bystander level. That seems very good

It all depends on how they measured this - the distance away, and the weighting, etc. Was it at idle, or under load, and if the latter, what is the load? What was the air temperature in the room?

I bought this computer. It is very quiet
