Can a reserator cool a 3.2 Ghz P4 and a Radeon 9800 Pro?

Post by Uberapan » Mon Aug 02, 2004 2:41 am

I just got a reserator, and I am not sure if it can adequately cool both my CPU, which is a 3,2 Ghz P4 (Northwood) and my graphics card, which is a sapphire radeon 9800 pro. I am not interested in overclocking or anything, just stable operation. Will it be enough, given normal (22-25C) ambient temperatures?

Yes, you'll be fine. Probably warmer than what a hardcore WC'er would consider fine, but perfectly safe. If I had to stab in the dark I'd say that your load temps would be 60-ish.

Has anyone tried multiple Reserators? I know it's expensive, but c'mon, we can be crazy, no?

I'm thinking of using possibly two Reserators, one will cool the CPU and Power supply (if I can get a water cooled one), and the other is for the Video Card (x800 XT) and Hard drive (maybe Aqua Computer's enclosure).

No reason why you couldn't..... but for $500+ that'd be mighty pricey. You could probably build your own passive radiator system for less than that. (big car radiator, perhaps)

Of course it wouldn't be as pretty.
