I need to have super silent system for audio recording.
Should I opt for the Reserator 2 setup or should I go wih silent case and silent components (i.e. something like an Antec P180 with quiet fans, etc)?
thanks,
brian

I mean it should be actually checked out: there's also the noise related to the coolant flow rate, which could be influenced by the active cooling. Moreover fan operation can be manually adjusted in order to optimize noise.Atmosper wrote:The Reserator XT has a 140 mm fans so it's going to be more noisy than the 1 and 2
The noise coming from the pump is negligable when compared to the fan noise. You're not going to have a quieter system by turning up the fan and turning down the pump.
The fan makes the Reserator XT a bad choice. The hole point of the reserator concept is to have a passive cooling system. It's thermodynamically inferior to most fan-cooled radiators. Adding a fan to the reserator is done to maximize cooling, not minimize noise. For the money, there are better solutions than the Reserator XT.
