- Since you have an X2, DDR2-800 might come in handy. If you buy
this OCZ kit by Sunday and get the rebate, it's only $9 more than the DDR2-533 kit you've selected.
- For the video card, is there a reason you're getting the version with a fan and then installing an aftermarket heatsink? Just get the MSI version without a fan -

- For the CPU heatsink, are you sure it's compatible with the new retention bracket? If you have room in your case, you might want to consider a bigger heatsink that can accomodate the 120mm fan of your choice. I'm not up on my AM2 heatsinks, so maybe someone else can help you out here.
- You're going to need to do something about that fan on the chipset (probably replace with a Zalman NB-47J)

Yes, the Freezer 64 Pro is compatible to the AM2 bracket, and there are no 120mm heatsinks for AM2 yet afaik. I will get a NB47J; forgot to put that. As for the video card, the VM101 is a larger heatsink and cools better than the factory passive one. I'm not planning to buy anything by Sunday; I might just get 1GB DDR2/800.

I agree with jackyl, for the price of the MSI card plus the VM101 you could get the Asus 7600gs, with 512mb and faster clock speeds.
Why pick one of the few AM2 mobo's with a fan? Lots of other choices with similar features that won't require a mod.
And this is a personal thing, but I would rather wait a week or two until a reputable reseller has that CPU in stock, rather than buy it from tigerdirect.

Ok, I'm switching the mobo to MSI K9N Neo F. I wasn't really thinking about buying the cpu from tigerdefect, I'll wait until Newegg carries it. I'm also switching to the Asus card.

AFAIK standard memory speed for the AM2 CPUs will be DDR2-667, not 533, although you could probably run the memory with a divider with no loss in performance.
ZZF has the AC F64P for $26, free shipping. Way better than from Newegg.

Supplier for CPU HSF switched to ZZF, why get a 7300GT instead of 7600GS? I was also told by QuietOC that the seeks on the WD are much less annoying than on the Samsung.

That's for the single cores. Dual cores will be DDR2-800.

Sorry, I thought it said 7300GS, not 7600GS.

I'll already get the MSI motherboard; QuietOC is a member here on SPCR forums. I'm switching to
this RAM because I'll not be needing 2gb and it's DDR2/800.

gfx switched tghe Gigabyte 7600GT. CPU switched to the sempron 2800+, I can just upgrade later when 65nm comes.

Why not stick with the standard AMD heatpipe HSF until a 120mm one is available? jmke tested one recently and it's not too bad at all, if you set up BIOS fan control.

The Sempron 64 2800+ doesn't come with a heat-pipe HSF. It comes with a dinky all-aluminum (no copper plug) extrusion with a thin (15mm) 70mm fan.

My mistake, I was looking at the original post with dual core and Freezer Pro.
Personally, I'd sit and wait for 65nm before buying anything at all but then again, we need some early adoptors to do the AM2 beta testing
