Intake fan advice for Antec Solo

Post by rpsgc » Mon Feb 18, 2008 2:16 pm

Hello,

I'm going to buy a Antec Solo case and I was wondering if I need one or two 92mm intakes, or any at all. They'll be Noiseblocker BlackSilent XE1 fans running at 5V.
My computer specs are on my sig with the only difference being that I'll also buy a Accelero S1 for my HD3870. Future upgrades might include a Q9450.

So, in your opinion, how many fans, if any, do I need?

My rigs as follows:

Case: Antec Solo
CPU: E6600
Mobo: P5N Sli
Vid Card: passive XFX 7950GT (gets up to 80-90 degrees)
Haddrive: Samsung 401LJ in suspenders
Optical: Pioneer 112D
Cooling: stock Tricool on low, XP-90 with a Nexus 92mm on the CPU

I could run it without it, but I decided on a single Nexus 92mm intake fan to provide airflow over the harddrive. If I were you, I'd run a single intake fan at 5v. Should be plenty and won't add much in terms of noise anyways.

I use a Scythe 100mm fan (SY1025SL12M IRC) at 5V. You don't really need a lot of airflow.

Even with a passive HD3870?
