Q on Ubuntu's S3 implementation

Post by somename » Fri Jun 06, 2008 10:28 am

Firstly, I apologize if it's an inappropriate forum. Please move this topic to a proper forum in such case.

I have a question for Linux gurus. I was giving Ubuntu a try as a home server OS, but I haven't found a solution to a issue. I had Ubuntu to go to sleep if inactive for 30 minutes, and it does so fine. The problem is than it does so even when the server is transferring files over the LAN.
There must be a way to configure is to not go to suspend while the network transfer is active. Please help me out. I'm starting to get comfortable around Ubuntu environment, and I'd hate to re-setup the server as an XP machine. Thanks.
