Trouble booting up

Post by jimbonewbie » Fri Dec 25, 2009 11:18 am

Computer gets to ASUS splash screen where its tells you you can hit tab to show booting process. If I don't press tab it gets stuck here. How ever if I do press tab it goes to the black screen where it lists all the devices and boots up as normal. Haven't done any changes to the computer either in software or hardware. What did I inadvertantly do?

Hi Jim,

A couple of things to try: go into the BIOS and shut off the "splash screen". And while you're in there, see if there is a "halt on error" option, and shut that off?

yeah.

I turn off the splash screen on all my computers...it actually speeds up boot time slightly believe it or not.
