Hi Everyone !
I am after a pair of speaker around 20w with amplifier for my desktop but I realy don't like the low-level hum in sleep mode or when not connected to an audio source.
Any recommendations ?
Thanks for your help and suggestions!

There is a lot of information hereabout the causes of speaker hum.
In my case it was caused by taping the power and signal cables together.

it's different
Buzz and hum are two distinctly different sounds.
The extra sound is either coming from the signal cable from your source (your computer) to the amplifier, or coming from the amplifier itself.
Try connecting the amplifer to a different power plug. Try reversing the power plug in the socket (if you can, don't force anything if the plug had one blade wider), or try a ground lifter adapter (3 pin power to 2 pin power) if the amplifier has a 3 pin power plug.
If none of that helps, try connecting a "known good" signal source to the amplifier, say your portable mp3 player, or replacing or re-orienting the signal cable.
