Ultra low-power PC made from a laptop?

Post by djkest » Mon Mar 28, 2011 7:05 am

Wondering if anyone has converted an old laptop into a desktop PC? You know, once the screen gets old, the case gets cracked, whatever. I'm thinking the combination of mobile CPU, SODIMM ram, and 2.5" drive would be good, and the PICO PSU like power supply to boot. You could also vastly improve the cooling that the laptop was using. Not sure if laptops have much in the way of BIOS adjustments. Could be more trouble than it's worth, also.

electrodacus did a real nice one. Real nice. He posted it sometime in the last month or so.
