PSU power to run 2.4 with mobo?

Post by frosty » Fri Jul 22, 2005 8:51 am

Hey greetings,
I bought a pc with an intel 2.4 and cd rw and stupid 250 watt psu sparkle brand.

I just tried to place a 9800 ati card and modem in it an the mobo died.

If I replace the mobo and reuse the 2.4 cpu will a 300 watt psu handle it ok?

TIA

What makes you think the PSU has anything to do with the mobo dying?

Granted, 250 is awfully weak for a P4 & 9800 system, but it's overload protection shouldn't damage the mobo.
