AMD Athlon X2 4400+: ADV4400DAA6CD or ADA4400DAA6CD?!?

AMD Athlon X2 4400+: ADV4400DAA6CD or ADA4400DAA6CD?!?
Hi,
Nowadays, there are two releases of this CPU: same ordering P/N (PIB) ADA4400CDBOX, but different ordering P/N (Tray): ADA4400DAA6CD or ADV4400DAA6CD.
And these aren't the only differences...

The latter seems an improvement, for quieter systems' aficionados and for OC's enthusiasts, but I can't say and see what kind of variations there are inside the CPU structure...

and mine is the first one listed and it idles at 96f.. Those numbers might mean something to someone, but at load with two instances of cpu loading software at the same time I get 128f at highest load. Exit the programs and it drops to 105f within 1 minute and within 2 minutes it's back to 96.
That's using the amd heatpipe cooler it came with and the asus board with Qfan enabled.

This might help out, but I don't remember where I read it... AMD takes their CPUs and during the testing process for QC, they test the wattage and max load and memory for errors. They then ID the 89w vs the 110w and list them as ADA or ADV. The end result, is that the 89w is more efficient than the 110w. That is the only real difference. (although it may work better due to lower resistance...) Marking it ADA vs ADV is a marketing tool so they can sell the ADV for a higher premium. I have seen some web companies raise the price of the ADV by almost $100!!! Luckily Zipzoomfly only raises the value by $9!! So, if you are going for a X2 4400, look and heat/silent is not an issue, it doesn't matter which you buy. But if you are going silent and want low power consumption, go with the 89w.
