I bought some arctic cooling mx-1 and wanted to cool some sinks on my mobo. But every sink I look at comes with pre-applied thermal tape. Anyone know a brand that sells them naked?

What about TO-220 heatsinks? Considering the small amount of heat ram makes, they should be more than adequate. And they're cheap, any place that carries electronic components should have them. Here's a link that should clarify things. TO-220 heatsink. They're meant for TO-220 package chips, by the way, the ones that look like this TO-220 package drawing.. They're used for voltage regulators and power transistors, which make a fair amount of heat.

But the MX-1 is ordinary thermal paste, i.e. not adhesive, isn't it? So how will you mount the heatsinks?
