I miss my ASUSProbe :(

Post by GOATMAN!!! » Fri Jun 16, 2006 11:23 pm

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I couldn't see any software section

My old asus board was on the way out (BIOS issues making it a pain to restart and gradually getting worse) so I just got an Athlon 64 3200+ (With a really nice TDP by the way, idles at 23 degrees with my zalman 7700 on lowest speed)

Anyway, the point of this upgrade is just to last me till conroe so I just got a cheapy gigabyte motherboard (GA-K8NF-9), and just cranked up easy tune to monitor my temps, but it really sucks to put it bluntly. I don't want all the bloat it comes with.

So here is my question: can somebody reccomend some 3rd party software that will monitor my cpu (And mobo would be nice too) temperatures similar to the way asus probe did (A nice history graph and no bloat, just sat in system tray nicely)

I liked the old ASUS Probe, the new one is ugly, more complicated with less funtions, crap. I don´t like the look of speedfan either, though it works nicely. The ITE SmartGuardian the comes with DFI boards is my favourite so far. Not much good on other mobos though.

I agree completely. I miss the history graph feature, yeah speedfan has it, but not as good.
