Setting the power plan to either Balanced or Power Saver (in Control Panel > Power Options) should enable CnQ. The High Performance power plan will disable it.

You could download CPU-Z or RMClock to verify the processor is idling at 1000MHz 1.0V. You might also try further undervolting with RMClock. :)

Does AMD have Vista C&Q drivers?

What options do you have for CnQ in the BIOS? My ASRock has the options for Auto, Enabled, and Disabled. For CnQ to work it must be set to Enabled, Auto and (obviously) Disabled don't work. If yours is set to Enabled you might try Auto, or vise versa if it's currently set to Auto.

I did not have to install any drivers for CnQ to work, Vista had support for it right out of the box. Just had to set it to the right option in the BIOS.

I also use Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe and I can't get CnQ to work at all. My HTPC is almost perfect with silky smooth playback and great reliability. Almost....

I hope Asus or AMD come up with a solution soon.

Looks like I stand corrected, then; must be an issue with the BIOS. Definitely shoot ASUS an *issue and see if they are aware of the issue, and if so, see if a fix is on the way soon.

* EDIT: Whoops, meant email.

I can't get cnq working right on my 3200+ either. It was working fine in XP and Linux, but on vista it's a no go.

I can force the max CPU speed to 1GHz, but vista does not reduce the voltage so there is no point.

I have an ATI xpress 200 chipset and venice core.

Can anyone confirm cool n quiet or speedstep functionality with voltage reduction working properly in vista?

CnQ seems to be working right out of the box for me with Vista Ultimate. Drops multiplier to 5x and voltage to 1.10V. Opteron-165 on a DFI Ultra-D (nForce4).
