mainboard 945G low power and overclock
excused for my English by google.
I want to make a PC low consumption with chipset 945g and celeron 440 2,0 Ghz (conroe). Which mainboard with this chipset allow overclock until 300 of fsb? Thanks

Yes, ok, but the consumptions are high for 965p. I do not know for 965G. The best for the consumption is the VIA, but overclock?

You only have really 2 choices in boards if you're looking for the 945G chipset.
Asrock (forgot model number sorry)
or
Asus P5LD2-VM
I think all 945G chipsets only come in mATX flavour. As a personal experience I've been able to get the P5LD2-VM up to 350FSB Prime95 stable over 24 hours. The board runs for $120 CND. The Asrock versions I think and will be considerably less; maybe $90?

There's a link on how to overclock that board. I found it very helpful.

He's looking for something that's good for overclocking; I don't think the mATX (the one with intergrated graphics) of the 965 DS3 has too many features for overclocking. I general almost all mATX-Integrated Graphics are very poor of features for overclocking. Still the best one is P5LD2-VM; at least the best one I've seen so far.Max Slowik wrote:The 965 chipset has integrated graphics and is considered the best chipset for overclocking, with Gigabyte's DS3 as the most popular for overclocking by far.
But it's not 945.
