AMD box HSF/FAN - 3 or 4 pin fan header?

Post by Thomas » Fri Jun 08, 2007 11:58 pm

Hi there

I've digged a lot, but cant find the info I need...

I've ordered a Athlon 64 X2 3800+ processor, and it's boxed. I plan on using the included fan/HSF, at least for a start.

Can someone plese tell wichever the included fan comes with a 3 or 4 pin connector?

Thanks.

Thomas

I bought X2 3800+ back in January and it came with 3 pin fan. The X2 3600+ I got a few weeks ago came with 4 pin fan. Whether newer ones come with 4 pin and 3 pin is going out or if it depends on the CPU, or maybe the CPU model i.e. if its ADA.... or ADO... I could try to find the boxes see which was which.
Sorry this doesn't help much!
Seb

Well, it helps some... I would prefer a 4-pin fan, since that's whats the mobo supports, and I like to use the Q-Fan function (or whatever it's called) as an insurance....

WHen I asked this question, I was able to change the order, but I'm not anymore. So you dont have to dig up any info, I'm just hoping it will come with a 4-pin 8)

Thanks,
Thomas
