Orthos - How Do You Use It?

Post by Jason W » Mon Aug 20, 2007 7:24 pm

I want to test my new rig's cooling prior to overclocking. I downloaded the most recent version of Orthos, extracted it, and am ready to use it. But I don't know what settings to use. I have a GA-P35-DS3R mobo, an E6750 CPU, 2 x 1GB of G. Skill DDR2 800 RAM (rated for 4-4-4-12 timings but running 5-5-5-15 currently), and a Ninja Rev. B mounted with the pish-pin bracket. All mounted in a P182 case with 3 Nexus 120mm fans running at 1,000 RPM.

Which test(s) should I run from the drop-down list?
What priority should I set?
What MBM sensors should I check?
Should I click the radio button for "all readings" or the one for "Changed readings" and what interval (in seconds) should I choose?

I can't seem to find a users guide, so I'm asking for your help! I'm afraid of hitting the start button before I know what the settings should be!!!

Thanks in advance,

Jason

just run "small fft" and "blended" leave all other settings

download intel tat to check your core temp

might want to run prime if you want to test stability. orthos doesn't seem to stress the system as much as tat, and more tolerant to possible errors than prime 95.
