BIOS Does Not Read Mobo Fan Speed. Please Help!

Hi all,

In the past couple weeks the fan speeds from my mobo have become unreadable from BIOS or other software. I'm sure the problem is my own stupidity, but maybe there's something I can do.

I have been playing a lot with locating sources of noise in my PC. In so doing, I have simply unplugged the case/cpu fans from the motherboard while the PC was on. I am wondering if by doing this many times I somehow shorted out the mobo connections or something?

The case/cpu fans all still spin at the same speed they used to, but now I cannot read the rpms. Is there a way to reset the motherboard, or bring these readings back to me?
