anyone know how to update bios on Gigabyte P35 ds3p

Post by ame » Mon Jan 14, 2008 2:10 am

Hi all,

Topic sais it all, my current bios version is F4. board revision 1.1
I downloaded the F9 bios and want to update, but I never did this before so I figured I better ask before trying...
I know many people on this forum have this MOBO or similar from Gigabyte.

thanks in advance for any reply

You can do either of the following:

- Put the BIOS file on a USB stick. Reboot the computer and check the first boot screen to see which button you need to press to enter "Qflash". Press this button. The Qflash utility will start and you can select the BIOS file from the USB stick and update.

- Use the Gigabyte @BIOS Windows utility.

The applications for flashing from Windows seem to be stable enough all around. I always use them whenever possible, it's just so much easier. I do take a few precautions, like disconnecting internet and disabling AV... just in case.

I've had the same troubles flashing from USB sticks. Be it my old "USBKey" or my fresh Kingston, they just don't get recognised. 3½" floppy is the only surefire way.
