Asus P5B LAN port issue

Post by Ash » Thu Oct 29, 2009 12:17 am

hey guys, im hoping someone can give me some help with my problem.

i have an Asus p4b MB, and i have always used the onboard LAN for my ethernet connection. since yesterday the orange/red LED is constantly on when the computer is on, before it would just flash green according to activity.

i have to say, it doesnt seem to effect my connection at all, im still getting the same speeds i think when downloading, but i wanted to know if there is anyway to get rid of the orange light and get it back to normal?

help would be much appreciated.

thanks

The orange LED usually means the LAN is connected at Gigabit speed, which is what you want. Have you changed the switch/router or cable recently?

i havent changed any hardware, iv tried resetting the bios and also installed win7 64 yesterday so the drivers were reinstalled but its still orange.

according to the manual orange is 100mb and green is gigabit, which is what i used 2 get.

as i say performance is still the same.

try installing the latest drivers:

Code: Select all

also, you should bookmark this page:

as it is freshly updated for the latest P5B drivers.
