CPU temp: who do I beleive?

Post by BrianF » Wed Jan 23, 2019 3:55 pm

This is my Intel i5-8500 (on an ASUS H370-F) during a quick P95 (Small FFT):

SpeedFan: 55C
ASUS AI: 60C
HWMonitor: >70C

At idle:

SpeedFan: 22C
ASUS AI: 34C
HWMonitor: 38C

Thats quite a variable there. Who is closer to correct?

This is the main reason i no longer buy Asus.

AI Suite has a built in algorithm that according to asus rep, is a more accurate way of measuring the temperature, that in my findings its not an offset, sometimes its lower than the cores and sometimes is higher, weather or not its accurate there is no way of knowing, i personally use HWinfo/HWmonitor core temperatures.

I personally use HWMonitor so I would rely on that.
