Dell RM112 PSU

Post by BillyBuerger » Fri May 21, 2010 11:50 am

Hey Mike, what about the Dell RM112 PSU I sent you a little while ago, does that fall into the new donation category? Should I start a thread for the review... Well, I guess I just have.

Okay, so I posted earlier about the Dell RM112 PSU that I bought and modded as a standard ATX PSU. It's a 235W PSU that is rated 80 plus gold. My own tests showed a noticeable drop in power even at low loads against a PicoPSU and Seasonic SS-300SFD which are both pretty efficient. But my tests aren't nearly as accurate as the SPCR test bench. So I donated it to SPCR so we could see what a low-powered gold rated PSU can do. Only problem is that it isn't an ATX standard and requires a bit of work to make it fit a normal PC. So unless you're willing to go through the work, it's not a very good option for most people. (I'll be posting soon about some other options I've been looking at.)

Hopefully some other people here are interested in seeing what this thing can do and donate for its review. Thanks!
