I was wondering if these parts can still be purchased?

Is it also possible to get them shipped to Australia?

If not I can get a friend to send them over.

Thanks guys!

They didn't ever make a 2500+. They have a 2600+. Why would you want these rather old items? AM2 is pretty much taking over.

actually they did (link) but I second the AM2 vs 754 question;754 is basically obsolete now.

Maybe he has DDR * and/or an AGP card.

* yes, DDR is worth more than DDR2 these days. Trading is a hassle though.

If he has agp card then why does he want a pci-e board?

They made 754 2500+ for sure. The Tforce boards are also PCI-e. I have a pcie card and ddr 1 waiting to go into this board.

The reason I want this combo is because the 2500+ can be dropped down to under 10Ws full load with a massive under volt. Which I can cool passively.

The reason I need a Tforce 754 is that they have solid caps which are almost essential for passive cooling and its also PCI-e and Micro ATX. Cost was also a factor.

If there are AM2's that can undervolt to a point where they run at under 10W full load I would like to know about them.

Thanks for your time.

Ian

The only Biostar Tforec6100 754 that I could find is an open box one at New Egg for $25.99 shipped free (New Egg only ships to the US). Just so you know New Egg's open box stuff is OEM and does not come with any retail accessories (although sometimes you get lucky and they send some). The only place I could find a Sempron 2500+ 754 is on eBay. The problem with the Athlon 64 3000+ the previous poster suggested is that it’s a 130nm CPU so it might not be the best choice for Passive cooling. New Egg has an open box Sempron 2800+ for $28.55 ($5.64 shipping), a Sempron 3000+ for $29 shipped, or a Sempron 3100+ for $27.99 shipped. Tiger Direct has a Sempron 2600+ for $27.99 + shipping. I would skip the Semprons all together though and get the Athlon 64 3200+ 2.2GHz Venice 90nm CPU that New Egg has for $36 (you could underclock it). The CPU cooler I would suggest is the Sunbeam CR-SW-K8. I have the Sunbeam cooler on my Sempron 64 2800+ Palermo 90nm CPU and it idles at 18-19C (64.4 - 66.2F). I had it passively cool it and it idled at 30 something Celsius (undervolting would lower the tempatures). I hope that helps you out and here’s all the links for all the stuff I mentioned:

My bad -- sorry. I didn't check the specs, just assumed all 754 boards are AGP.

apparently the tforce on newegg has been sold. Any other suggestions?

I have hunted down a 2500+ already, so now the only missing part is the board.

Thanks to everyone for the help so far!

Cheers!

Yes, sorry about that it sold out shortly after I posted. I got in on one though. I found one on eBay and maybe you could ask the seller if he would ship to Australia. I wish you luck and greetings from the US. Ben
