I'm selling the proSilence 350W (170W actual) fanless PSU in this thread:

http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=9365

I'm located in Melbourne so postage will be *cheap* (pick-up even better).

Apologies if this is considered a thread hi-jacking. I promise to delete this post as soon as it's sold.

Cheers,

Paul

All requests up to this point have been added.

I have made a few purchases from lownoisepc.com so that has now been added to my recommended list.

Top operators, and the best range of silencing stuff in Australia.

For anyone in Sydney, XCOM (who have had a shop in Mascot for a while) have just opened up a new shop in Capital Square, George St.

I went there on Thursday which happened to be the day they opened so I got some free food and drink too!

They are not silent specific, but they have several good silence oriented products:
  • The Sunbeam Rheobus
  • Aerocool HT-101, DP-102, DP-103 tower heatpipe coolers
  • Aerocool VM-101 VGA card cooler
  • Zalman 7000 and 7700, fanmates etc
  • soft rubber fan grommets
As well as a lot of bling bling lighting products and rather revolting cases  And also accessories such as easy-to-remove molex connectors. I think they are the main importers/distributors for Sunbeam and Aerocool, so they have all their products.

I've found them very helpful and highly recommend them.

Yeah, you can spot their shop a mile off - just look for all the glowing CCFLs! I needed to put my sunnies on in there 8) 8)

True, their site isn't much good - I can't even find prices for stuff. But it's easier for me to go down to their store anyway....

That's great, thanks! I had never heard of arc prior to seeing this forum topic and was just about to ask if anyone had experience with them. The only question that remains unanswered, and I can't find the answer on their web site, is their delivery costs. Any idea for Melbourne shipments?

ckolivas - Altech are a distributor. They are the Antec Distributor for Aus, pretty much every Antec item comes in through them.

I don't think you can buy retail from them, but most of the other sites I have listed purchase some of their range from Altech.

Chancellor Martok - I have added ARC to the list, and yeah, this is a new addition. I want to capture peoples recommendations at the top so people don't need to trawl through the threads unless they want details ;)

I never noticed that before since I didn't try to order anything from them. So I gave arc a try and their prices are very good, but the 5 fanmates and one northbridge cooler I ordered arrived as 5 northbridge coolers and 1 fanmate :( Not a good start. However it seems an honest enough mistake and they are taking it back and paying for the postage without making any gripes so things still look cool.

Scorptec http://www.scorptec.com.au/ were happy to cherry-pick a nidec samsung for me.

I first talked to guy on phone, who got warehouse to find a nidec drive, but they thought i was after a PATA instead of SATA. Instead of getting the warehouse to check again for the SATA ones, he just told me to put it in the comments field of my order and they would cherry pick a nidec when processing the order, and if they didnt have one they would contact me and cancel the order.

The samsungs are on special there too currently, $140 AUD for the SP1614C

Follow up: I had to call them to remind them to send the 4 replacement fanmates, but there was no fuss and they delivered it within a day. I'm very happy with their service now.

Always good to hear CKolivas ! Good service is so important.

Gitto, Scorptec, PCCaseGear, and AusPCMarket are my usual haunts for most "regular" gear for exactly that reason. They really appreciate the enthusiast

another thumbs up for auspcmarket. i just ordered one of the silverstone psu from here and it arived promptly by courier, the box packed in bubble wrap in a bigger box without so much as a bump. the prices on their website include this "free" shipping within AU. :)

starsky the QLD section could do with a crop, http://www.korecomputers.com/ and http://www.dealerdan.com.au/ are gone and http://www.jumbomall.com.au/ doesn't appear to stock any hardware

Thanks wim. Updated.

I have done about 30 orders from Auspcmarket now, and I am a huge fan of their shipping methods. It is always fast, VERY well wrapped, and usually included in the price.

Ladies and Gents, PC Case Gear now stock the Seasonic S12 series PSU's !

I have purchased heaps from James at PC Case Gear, and he has really responded to silent enthusiast demand (Panaflo, Antec, Silenx, Seasonic).

Just for those of us in Brisbane who like to shop locally, i have generally found the best prices at http://www.umart.com.au/, and in terms of quiet components they have most Antec and Zalman products (TT as well). Not much in the way of fans however. I have ordered various parts from umart a number of times and have always been happy with them so i thought it might be appropiate to list them here.

(I dont know about deliveries as it is more convienent for me to pick-up from the store)

For things that can be hard to find elsewhere, Computer and Parts Land is pretty good (www.cpl.net.au) - Melbourne only. Not especially cheap, but not bad.

For all the mainstream stuff (NOT quiet specialists) I shop a lot at MSY Technology (www.msy.com.au) - I've been buying from them since they got their first store in Melbourne (now they are in Sydney, too). They are starting to stock Zalman (7000 only, I think), and they have Antec. They generally have the best prices I've found. I buy motherboards, CPUs, RAM, hard drives, optical, video, etc here because it's cheap, then get the cooling, maybe PSU, elsewhere :D There's often a queue out the door, but it's worth the wait.

For the more obscure stuff, it's hard to go past PC Case Gear (only place I know where I can get a Reserator 1plus) - they are excellent, and they let Melbourne-siders come and collect their orders. Shame they are way over near Moorabbin Airport :( Oh, and check out their funky custom case badges!
