Antec Solo [$20+$16 shipping=$36] DEAL IS OVER

Post by clalor » Mon Nov 26, 2007 7:38 pm

It's currently listed as $59.99 before the $50 rebate. Even if you don't send in the rebate, which is valid between 11/26 and 11/30, it's still a good deal. It was listed at $79.99 (before rebate) this morning. Good thing I waited. :D

Antec Solo at Newegg

Be warned, their site is running pretty slow right now.

He should call them and complain, you never know.

They must be making up for really lousy BlackFriday specials.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered my second Solo. My first Solo carried a $40 rebate which was not honored even though I submitted every item on time and then resubmitted copies of every item online when the rebate agent said that no items had been received. Calls and emails to Antec brought no relief.

This time I am sending my rebate by registered mail!!!!

yeah - antec is mighty slow on the rebate process. They say up to 12 weeks...and my Solo rebate earlier in the year took....12 weeks.

I've never read instructions as many times as I read rebate instructions. Its absurd. The worst was the agency Sapphire used when I got a video card from them:

1. Print the form. fill out all info or else. Then
2. Go to the website and do the same thing, 1 mistake and you've had it. Then
3. Write all the info on the back of the envelope, in the correct order, or else.

I had done about three rebates back then. I walked out of the Post Office with a handful of receipts and my head was spinning.

I think I spent about 50% of my rebates for registered mail. I believe it's a Post Office conspiracy! 8)

Twelve weeks is a hell of a lot better than never. Twelve weeks I can (grudgingly) live with.

GRRRR! I paid $26 plus $30 shipping for one of these on Ebay last month.

Come to find out, the guy ripped me on shipping. It was actually only $15.

My wife talked me into getting one. I told her that I really don't need another case lying around the house. She told me that it's only $10 after rebate and that I should just buy it. Yep. That's love. Heh.

Jeez, and here I thought I was doing pretty good with 2-day from their California warehouse. No matter, mine shows up tomorrow, with the Earthwatts 380 PSU showing up the next day.

I hope you purchased already if you were planning to. They're now showing it as $79.99 before the $50 rebate, which still isn't a bad deal.

After checking into USPS services it appears that certified mail with return receipt requested is the best method to mail a rebate submission.

The question is when and where does it suck the most.

Tourist love our prices, but Greeks that I know who moved here from the old country complain of taxes they never seen or heard of before. They are far less impressed. We tax more heavily on the earnings side, you guys tax more heavily on the consumption side. The result is you guys comsume less, which overall is a good thing.

When I'm in the old country I tell them I earn 3 dollars and come home with 2, they just stare at me. But then I don't have to pay any tax on the engine displacement of my car no matter what size it is.

Your prices are cheaper then our prices. Our earnings suck in comparison and we are taxed to death. For example Jorma Ollila runs one of the biggest firms in the world. Year 2006 his income was 6,2 million euros (ranked 40th in Finland) of which he paid 50% income tax. The maximum income tax here is 60%, a totally unjustified robbery. Richest man in Finland earned 17 million last year. These numbers are pathetic compared to rest of the world. Laws in Finland are motivated by jealousy of socialists. For example 7 years ago Teemu Selänne was visiting Finland and he was in a car accident and he was fined more then 40,000 euros. If it had been me instead, I would have had to pay only 720 euros.
When I'm in the old country I tell them I earn 3 dollars and come home with 2, they just stare at me. But then I don't have to pay any tax on the engine displacement of my car no matter what size it is.
People here would also stare at you, because you have to pay so small taxes.

If I wanted to buy BMW M5 next january, I'd have to pay 177,500 euros for it. That's 260,000$. When I checked from bmwusa.com it said prices starting from 82,900$. Mercedes-benz SLR McLaren would set me back 880,000 euros. That's 1,3 million dollars compared to ~500k it would cost in USA.

I can even live with our expensive computer hardware, but I sure wish we'd have these great discounts as well...

It did go up. I posted with the new price, but thanks to whoever edited the thread subject to bring it up to date.

There's a direct link to the case in the first post.

I called and haggled my way to $10.00 off and got the original hot deal of $9.99. Today was the last day but the price changed yesterday....better CALL NOW if you want it for 9 dollars. I paid an effective $7.00 shipping because of the volume of my order = 17.00 paid.

Nice, nice deal.

I got mine today. If Antec doesn't stiff me on the rebate, it willl be $26 total. Pretty sweet! 8) Now i just need stuff to put inside -- not arriving until Monday at the earliest. :(

I got the Earthwatts 380 that was on a similar deal, so i got a nice, system-ready case for less than $50.

HedgeHocker: i assumed that NewEgg shipping costs decreased with multiple items, but after playing around with all the components i needed for my system, i saw no net change in shipping costs between $800 in components and just a few. That included two cases (i was considering either) in the first scenario (neither with free shipping) and one in the second.

AFAICT, there's no combined shipping discount there...

Anyone know how I can get my hands on an Antec Solo with cheap shipping to Hawaii 96817? I've looked everywhere and shipping is $40-80.

Then I probably got the same great deal you did. I had based some of that on assumption from someone elses comment that they Do reduce shipping costs with volume and I didn't verify it but went with logic based on final cost.

Due to the fact that you live in Hawaii, you are not entitled to good shipping deals. Nobody should be allowed to live in paradise AND have cheap shipping

ugh, I bought a Solo from Newegg on 11/28, and can't find where I put the rebate form. Can anyone please send me the right one? I tried contacting Newegg, and they told me

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Please kindly note, all rebates are issued through the manufacturers directly. Manufacturer rebates are issued exclusively by the company who produced the product, not Newegg. Any use of the aforementioned rebates is limited to the terms and conditions as determined by the product manufacturer. After reviewing your account, we show that there is no rebate on the date of your purchase on 11/28. Please feel free to check all the promotions and pricing on our website since we post them in a real-time format. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support."

thanks in advance

Hello,

If you saved the PDF on your local hard drive, can you Search for *.PDF? I looked on all my systems, and came up empty. :(
