Seasonic Precise
I just got an email ad from SVC. One of the things on it was the Seasonic Precise. I haven't heard of this model before. Looks like it's a budget version of the super silencer. Slightly lower effeciency at 75% and no PFC.

Is this a brand new thing? I haven't heard anything about this before.

Re: Seasonic Precise
Looking at Seasonic website it looks like an old thing (the FS series) in new retail packaging. Still has the S2FC fan control and Forward Converter AC/DC for efficiency so not too bad, but not ATX 1.3 compliant.BillyBuerger wrote:Is this a brand new thing? I would be more enthusiastic if they were even cheaper!

If it has that same fan controller as in the rev A2 SS 400, I wouldn't take it if it was free!
I am completely spoiled by the Nexus NX-3000 which has not yet revved up one single time and I've had it over a week. The SS 400 couldn't go an hour without revving up. And the Nexus is just plain quieter.

I noticed on SVC's website that the Seasonic Precise 300W's model number is 'SS-300FS R3'. Could this be an indication that this part uses the same rev 3 fan controller as the A3 editions of the Super Silencers and Tornados? Or am I just being too optimistic? Any first-hand experiences with this PSU would be greatly appreciated, as I am seriously considering purchasing this one.
