SuperTornado 300w rev. A3

Post by pariah333 » Tue Apr 20, 2004 7:53 pm

Just got my ST300 revA3 - SeaSonic kindly exchanged my noisy revA2 for A3. Let me just tell you, it's a HUGE difference, I can't even hear the PSU from where I'm sitting (which is pretty close). It's EXTREMELY quiet! Now the loudest thing in my PC is the AcoustiFan (120mm) and a pair of Seagate 7200 SATA drives. So far I'm very satisfied with the results!

BTW, can someone recommend a quiter 120mm fan?

Thanks!

That bright orange Nexus 120mm fan that spins at 1000 RPM, maybe?

That's all fine and dandy idle. But how loud is it under load? How high does the fan's RPM climb up to? And post your system specs please.

Did you buy that from Seasonic or a vendor? I bought mine from axiontech.com. It is revA2 and loud when under load :x . I am going to look into returning this. By far the loudest thing in any of my computers. My elcheapo $17 delivered powermagic 550 watt was much quieter even before I took out the 2 stock fans and replaced them with 1 80mm L1a.

Hello pariah333

Can you tell me what is the rpm speed of your ST300 revA3 at Idle
and at hard work ?

My ST350 RevA2 turn at ~850rpm at Idle (80Watts) ,
at ~1250rpm in games (140Watts)
and can turn up to 1550rpm at full load (160 Watts)
