Antec TruePower 330W or Antec Smartpower 350W?

Which of these would be better for a super quiet PC? The SL350S that came with my case had a loud high pitch tone so I got an RMA for it. They said they no longer carry the SL350S and will have to ship me an SL350. I'm not particularly excited about that since I bought the SLK3700-BQE specifically because I wanted a single fan power supply. I think the reps just didn't understand that this came as part of a case, but whatever...I'll include a note and hope for the best.

So, if I'm going to mod either of these with quieter fans, which should it be? Is there even a difference?

I've had them both (at the same time). The TruePower is a more expensive model, and quieter. The main difference is the TruePower has much longer cables....almost too long for a mid-tower case.

But not a whole lot of difference between the two. (IMHO)

The SL350 is a big step noisier than the True330. I highly doubt that Antec stopped making the SL350S as it is the default PSU for the very popular 3700BQE series.

I would request whoever you're RMAing your SL350S replace it with a PSU that's at least as quiet as an SL350S, and an SL350 isn't. If you can't get an SL350S you should definitely request a True330 in it's place. An SL350 is a step backwards. I would contact ANtec directly about this issue. They have a toll-free customer service number that you can call.

Followup.

Antec came through. After going back and forth with them all day, the manager I spoke with pulled an SL350S from a BQE they still had and they said they'd ship that. So the question is moot.
