PSU Recommendation?

Post by patrik1982 » Tue Jun 29, 2004 6:45 am

I want to buy a new PSU for my computer:
CPU: AMD Barton 2800+
CPU-fan: Zalman AlCu7000A
MB: Asus A7N8X-X
HD: Seagate Barracuda 120GB
Chassis-fans: Papst 8412NGL
Graphics: Geforce4 MX-440 (will be upgraded soon)

I have the following to choose from:
-SeaSonic 300W Active PFC 120mm ATA
-SeaSonic 350W Active PFC Retail
-Qtechnology PA-QT-02300 PAPST-series 1 fan 300w ATX
-Qtechnology PA-QT-02350 PAPST-series 1 fan 350w ATX
-Qtechnology PA-QT-02350-2F PAPST-series 2 fans 350w
-Qtechnology PA-QT-02350G PSU 350watt ATX
-Antec True Power 330W
-Antec SmartBlue 350W
-Enermax 350w EG365AX-VE
-Tagan 330W, 20dB
-Zalman ZM300B-APS 300W, 20dB

Can anyone recommend a silent PSU in the list above? Also, is there any PSU I definitely should NOT buy?

Throw out the list and but a Coolmax Taurus instead. If it does make any noise, my Zalam 7000AlCu running at its lowest drowns it out.

Oh- and you can get it for less than $50 (depending on your power requirements).

The problem is: I live in Sweden and we don't have the same PSUs over here. Also, I've heard that our power-outlets are not the same as in the USA, so I don't think buying from there would be a very good idea (+expensive shipping)

SilentPCReview Recommended Power Supply Article.

Choose one from here that you can get in Sweden.

Notice though that the Fortron Aurora isn't the same Fortron 350W we have in europe. I'm told the european version is a bit noisier, but my (soon to be ex) case fan drowns out any noise my fortron psu makes.
