The box pictured does not have the extra labels of the newer version. You'll have to ask them.

The newest one should have "HT" at the end of it.

These guys state that these are a new revision (not bad prices too):
http://www.bestbyteinc.com/products.asp?dept=128

Never dealt with them, so can't vouch for them, but their ResellerRatings aren't bad.

BestByteInc, referred to by oldboi, is a reputable dealer. They do in fact sell the new versions of the power supplies. Call them up and ask about the different versions, the customer service (Barry) is very knowledgable. I should be getting my new revision S12-430 from them tomorrow....plus, best prices on hte s12's that i could find online..........

I just purchased a S-12 500 from Frontier PC and it is the new one. I emailed them first to make sure, and they said they only have the new one in stock. If you're looking for the old one, I emailed Anitec also and they told me they only have the old one.

From what I can see, the old ones are better? Is has higher efficiency in the range where most users will be (50-200W) and the fan is quieter. The only thing that would seem to have been upgraded is the capacitors.

Be careful. The variances you see in the reviews are probably within the error range of the testing setup. Besides, the quieter fan is quite a bit quieter, and this means no modding, no loss of warranty...

Buy.com has Seasonic PSU too. Just search with the keyword "seasonic" on their web site.
430W - $92
500W - $121
600W - $148.
All three qualify for free shipping. If you use coupon codes it will be even cheaper. If you apply for their credit card, that is another $30 off.

Do you mean the fan on the old version or the new version is "quite a bit Quieter?"

Bottom line. Which one should I buy for the best mix of power and silence?

Do both PSU versions have 2 PCIe connectors? It seems to be a selling point on the new sticker, but I thought the older one had the same feature.

:? Your test shows that the older version is quieter (and more efficient up to 250 W).
But as you say in the test, the difference is very small, nothing to worry about.

Don't confuse this thread any more than it already its! The talk here is about the S12-500. The newer versions of the 500 and 600 have a 7-blade Adda that is quieter than the 5-blade Yate Loon that these models first came with. We never officially posted reviewe of the first samples because Seasonic told us they were going to be changed almost immediately after the first release.

Mystr_Byrnz,

Only the S12-500 and 600 have the PCIe connectors, the 330 and 480 do not. Simple math, I think, a heavyweight SLI system that would require them will probably want most of 500W at full load.

Those are great prices and free shipping! Does anyone know if those are the new revisions?

How about $124. shipped for the 500W or 600W at http://www.ewiz.com/query.php?categry=1 ... d=Seasonic.

People say they are receiving the new revision and that the vendor is reliable. I just ordered the 600W.

Does anyone know a comparison in sound between the 600 and 500 version?

nVidia website says the 600w has been certified for Sli so I guess I'll get that one (being near the same price helps too)

Just curious if the 600 is as quiet as the 500

^^^From there. :)

They got a good rep?

On a side note. Anyone know anything about Monarchcomputers.com?

They list the 7800gtx for $500.00. That's the cheapest I've found it.
