Hello, I am looking for a PSU (fanless would be ideal) able to run
Athlon64 3500+
ATI R530 graphics card (ie. non power hungry PCI-express)
Plextor PX716SA (sata DVDRW)
2 x 80GB Seagate Momentus SATA 2.5" HD's
M-Audio Audiophile 2496 (sound card)
I haven't chosen a motherboard yet
case could be a Yessico 8989 openAir
summing up, I am looking for a PSU with 4 SATA connectors for a medium power setup costing up to £150 (less is preffered).
It would be nice to have a Fanless PSU with large external heatsinks + Modular cable managment but on these I am flexible.
recommendations ?

I would go to each manufacturer's website and review any pictures available of the SATA plugs prior to purchase. Depending on how far you need to pull those SATA power lines down, the orientation of the plugs may not be in the direction you need it...
I've had a few top brand PSU's whose's first attempt at SATA connectors had the orientation in such a way I could not use those plugs when I fully extended those power lines to the bottom of my chasis.
That said, the Seasonic S12-500 does have 4 SATA connectors and the orientation is now correct compared to their Super Tornado 400 versions. The newer Antecs (2005 models) are fine as well.

There doesn't seem to be a power supply that fits all of my criteria but I have found Molex to SATA power adapter cables. I will resign myself to the untidy/nonmodular solution of using a common passive PSU Fortron Zen, Silentmax or Yesico wit adapter cables where needed.
