Antec Neo HE + Asus A8N = Not working?

Post by hravn » Tue Oct 25, 2005 10:25 pm

Since people seem to have a problem when combining the Antec Neo HE and the Asus A8N at HardOCP, I'm wondering if anyone is running this combo and has it working?

Greetings,

Apparently, both Antec and Asus are aware of the problem, and they are working on a solution. If you do a search here on SPCR, you'll find several threads on this very subject.

Yes, I know.. ;) I've read them all. I have the A8N, so I was asking to see if it was worth the gamble.. if someone has got them to work together, perhaps I will be lucky as well.

In case you haven't seen the update at [H] or on Anandtech.

The A8N SLI and A8N SLI Deluxe changed from rev1.01 to rev1.02 earlier this month; A8N SLI Premium changed from rev1.01 to rev1.02 in July.

They (Asus)suggests our shared customers with motherboard rev1.01 to update the drivers and BIOS, and also plug the onboard 4pin Molex connector. If the updates still don't solve the problem, the customer will need to contact ASUS RMA for replacement.

Version 1.02 boards should be ok, in house testing showed no problems with 1.02s.

Thanks for the update, hadn't checked the [H] thread yet today. So, if, if my MB is one week old (it wasn't in stock when I ordered it, so it must have come directly from the distributor) I should be ok?

I'd assume the revision is silk-screened on the motherboard somewhere, so try checking it and the stickers on the board or motherboard box. If you can't find anything, contact ASUS and I'm sure they can tell you how to find out what revision the board is. :)

Yep, was figuring as much.. but I'm at work so I couldn't check right now. Was going to break down and order the Smartpower 2.0 500W today, but now I guess I'll wait until the Neo HE is available in Sweden. Sucks having all these nice parts just lying around... ;)

Got my A8N-SLI Premium monday, and it was a rev 1.02. Have't tried it with my Neopower HE yet, but it's coming tonight ;)

If I remember correctly, it is printed on the board itself.
