NeoHE problems with nVidia chipsets only?
Some time ago, I put together a shopping list for a new PC: Antec P150 + NeoHE PSU, Asus A8V, an Athlon 64 CPU -- I haven't decided on exact model -- and Kingston ECC RAM. (I already have drives and sound/video cards.) But I've put off buying it all after reading about the compatability problems with the NeoHE and various Asus motherboards.
However, I think I've spotted a pattern in the problems: nVidia chipsets. I haven't exhaustively reviewed all the related posts here on SPCR; but the majority of the posts that I've read report problems using a NeoHE power supply with an nVidia based motherboard. I noticed no problem reports about Via chipset boards. Can anyone support or refute this observation?

I agree, I've seen more problems with NForce than any other chipset. However, I think it may come down to statistics: NForce dominates the enthusiast market, so it makes sense that there'd be more complaintw with NForce than without. If you go through the NeoHE feedback poll, you should be able to find problems with several non-NVidia chipsets.
For example, I recall seeing anecdotes about problems with Intel 945 boards, and some older VIA chipsets (KT133).

Follow-up: A8V + NeoHE = OK
I finally got my new system together: Athlon 64 3200+ with E6 Venice core, Antec P150 case with NeoHE 430 PSU. Works like a charm; I'll post later with more info. I haven't tried running any 3D games yet.

So far so good w/ P150 (Neo HE 430 SN S0509xxxx):
A8N-SLI Premium rev 1.02
x2 4800+ (stock HSF)
2 Samsung SATA 250 Mb
ASUS N6600LE Silencer
2 Nexus 92mm case/HD bay fans
No OS yet, but it POSTs and allowed me to configure RAID 1 on the Nvidia controller. Trying to decide whether I can or should update chipset drivers and bios before I install the OS. Can't figure out how to get a USB floppy/card reader combo to be recognized (I think I need the OS before USB devices show up).
