GameXStream and p180

Post by nivek7 » Sun Jul 30, 2006 11:43 am

Mine is very loud in my system, easily overpowers anything else. Some people seem to find it near silent. Would it be because of some positioning problems? Theres only one way you can put it right? - face down. The "cover" does seem to be blocking the sides of the fan as the fan isn't centered. It is the 600w by the way.

Thanks.

are you sure its the power supply? did you verify by stopping other system fans?

I suspect the people who find it "near silent" aren't referring to SPCR standards of what is quiet and what is silent. See the graph in this thread which plots fan speeds of the S12-500 against the GameXstream 700W; the OCZ model's fan spins almost twice as fast as the Seasonic at all loads.
