I agree... change the link. Anyway, the brick would most likely work, and if it doesn't whine i can't see any other negatives than the fact that you have even more clutter on the desk... For a HTPC i would definately consider that though

I just wonder why they're even bothering...
There's fanless PSUs which fit inside case and don't take extra desk space.

Also efficiency of internal brick migh be 90% but with external desk space eater total efficiency definitely won't be any better than that of good complete PSU.
And "permanen power 200W" marking makes whole selling rating stink badly!

Well, SPCR reviewed the Pico PSU with an 80W and 120W brink and got the highest efficiency yet. Beat out all the top performers of standard ATX PSUs. Putting this heat source outside the case means the case temp doesn't affect the PSU and the PSU doesn't affect the case temp.

Plus fanless PSUs are still in the case and so their heat is dumped at least partially in the case, heating up the other components. You would probably need a pretty good positive pressure setup to avoid that. Which kind of defeats the purpose of a fanless PSU.

Have a look at their HFX mini case. It's so small an ATX PSU won't fit. When a company needs to have such a powersupply for one of their cases, it's a small step to sell them separately. Especially since there has been demand for something like this for some time. The only alternative (in this power range) so far required rewiring skills.
