My Seasonic SS400FS seems to be dead. I wished to replace it with a corsair hx520w but it has no -5v.
Is the -5v essential for an Athlon XP 2800+ with an ASUS A7n8x-e deluxe?
Thanks

No, -5V is not needed. For the most part, -5V has not been used since the days of ISA slots... very old ISA slots, at that.
If it makes you feel any better, I used to have an Athlon XP 3000+ with an Epox 8RDA+ motherboard (another nForce2 motherboard from around that time). The lack of a -5V rail made no difference at all.
