Modded Raidmax PSU, how warm is too warm?

Post by acoysighintime » Sun Apr 27, 2003 5:01 pm

So I had a black aluminum Raidmax 400w PSU, with the two hideously bright, ridiculously loud 80mm fans. I opened the bad boy up and removed the front 80mm, the one that hangs out of the power supply. I used some small plastic washers and the fan screws, to replace the original grille. This once quite noisy PSU is now alright by my standards (a freight train by most forum regulars).

However, the air coming from the back of the PSU is now quite warm. I wouldn't say HOT, you can keep your hand there forever and it isn't too hot to touch. But it is still something to think about. Should I worry, as long as my voltages stay WNL?

Its difficult to say without a temperature reading. Most here would take an exhast air temp of 40C on a PSU as fine. That also depends on the build quality, but I assume that Raidmax ranks up there in quality.
