ofcourse im refering to optimal power-to-noise ratio.
will a HX520 be enough?
(there will be two maybe three harddrives and a single g8600)
then again i just saw some posts in which people are trying to replace the fan in their corsair PS'
is there a quieter/more preferred choice?
which PS optimal for Q6600?

A 520W power supply for that setup is complete overkill. Even with overclocking, I don't see your computer taking over 250W during complete load. I would recommend either the Corsair VX450 or the Seasonic S12II-330W. I am a big fan of Seasonic, but the Corsair is actually just a Seasonic rebadge so either would be good.
Those are the best solutions. Truth be told, you'll find even with fanless power supplies that they still make noise (coil whine and the like). Usually those who do fan swaps on the quietest Seasonics and Corsairs are the most picky when it comes to noise...even on a forum like this one I'd bet the vast majority would be happy with a non-swapped PS.
So anyways, yes the Seasonics and Corsairs are your best bet in terms of quietness. If you still find them too noisy, you can then go from there to a fan swap, but as stock solutions those PS's are basically as good as they get.

I have an HX520 and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with it - there's no sign of the buzzing that's been sporadically reported elsewhere, but the fan is considerably louder than I was expecting, even under minimal load.
You'd hardly call it noisy by most standards I suppose, but on the strength of the SPCR review I was expecting stellar performance, which just hasn't been the case. Maybe I got a bad one, but it's definitely louder than the Seasonic SS-301HT I was using previously.
