Pico-120WI-25V... is less efficient than the normal 120?

Post by Maverickâ„¢ » Wed May 07, 2008 1:02 am

Hi guys, I'm going to buy a Pico 120 watt
the WI version has the plus that it is compatible with many power bricks over the standard 12 volt, like for example those of the notebooks.

But I have a doubt: is the WI version less efficient than the normal one?

are there other differences between the two versions?

thanks :)

Yes, it's less efficient than the normal PicoPSU as the normal one doesn't need to convert the input voltage to 12v (just 3.3 and 5), as it is provided with 12v from the external brick.
How much less efficient it will be is another question.
