quiet budget PSU?

Building a budget core 2 duo gaming system and I want it to be quite, what would eveyone suggest for a PSU that costs around $50 that will supply enough power for the core 2 duo, 1-2 SATA HDD, and probably a 9600GT?

Sounds like a job for a Corsair VX450. Highly ranked here on SPCR and is around your price range. A quick search at my local computer store shows it on sale for $60 after a mail in rebate.

Newegg has it for $60 after rebate as well, I love Corsair products so I'm sure its good, however is there anything cheaper?

There's a $30 MiR for the 430w Earthwatts right now, which makes it $30 from Newegg, assuming you ever get the check.

The power needs of that system should be very modest (<150W). My $20 300W In-Win IP-P300AJ2 was great with a 3.2GHz 65nm Core 2 + factory overclocked 8800GT and a few drives. You can get the IP-P300AJ2 with a decent In-Win case for around $40.

The rebated Earthwatts EA430 mentioned is probably better (slightly more efficient), but I prefer 120mm fans to 80mm, but I also changed the fan on the In-Win.
