It seems that AC is (finally) showing its first PSU. Apparently it's made by, or with Seasonic and a claimed efficiency between 81 and 86%

Oh, and yes, it has an external fan

Interesting indeed, AC isn't famous for the lowest noise levels but the design might have some benefits if there is nothing between the fan and the heatsinks.

550W and 80%.. is it the same PSU that is in my AC Silentium Eco case? Apart from cover and fan of course

The external fan is silly, this won't fit in my case (I'm not taling about the space available ...)
