Corsair HX1000 or Zalman ZM1000? What to buy?

PSUs: The source of DC power for all components in the PC & often a big noise source.

Corsair HX1000 or Zalman ZM1000? What to buy?

These are 2 sides of my PC:

Most of the time I use it for mixing and mastering audio, so keeping this PC quiet is most important for me. The case is damped, HDDs (1x Raptor, 1x Samsung Formula) are in quiet boxes, I only use low RPM Yate Loon fans and I was using the HX620 PSU.
I will use a water cooling for CPU and GPUs, the Laing DDC pump will be in a quiet box. 3x low RPM 120mm Yate Loon fans will be used for the Thermochill radiator.

Now that I bought 2x MSI GTX280-OC cards, I have sold my Corsair HX620 and need a stronger PSU.
The relevant components in my PC are:

Intel E8400 (OC)
Nforce 780i
2x MSI GTX280-OC
WD Raptor 150GB
Samsung F1 1TB
Laing Ultra Pump
SB Audigy with an external box (no external power supply)
Matrox Triple Head Digital (noexternal power supply)
4GB DDR2

I suppose the peak load may be close to 600W and there is also the possibility that I will add a third GPU for physics, so 1000W PSU is a must.
Please note, that when I'm working with audio, load is probably much less than 300W, so only idle noise is important (I don't mind having some noise while gaming).
I was really happy with the HX620, it is the most quiet PSU I ever had. After doing some research, I know I will buy either the HX1000, or the Zalman ZM1000.
HX1000 got some outstanding reviews, it seems to be a great PSU, however idle noise should be 3db higher than HX620.
ZM1000 on the other should be one of the most quiet 1000W PSUs out there, but it has 3 big drawbacks: No on/off switch, only 4 PCIe connectors and it is about 25% more expensive than HX1000.
Still, if the difference in the fan noise to HX1000 is substantial, I can invest more, as I have spent much more for keeping my system quiet.
Has anyone compared those two, or can somebody give me his opinion about the acoustic atributes of the HX1000?
Thank you!

Thta's the neatest tidiest desk I've ever seen... and the gear setup is amazing too. 8)

The phtos, esp. the second, are excellent too. You didn't by any chance photoshop the crap off the desk, did you?

Getting to your question re the PSU -- Corsair's noise spec on the 520/620 is honest, and Corsair says it's 4 dBA higher for the HX1000. Go with the Zalman. It's the around same SPL as the HX620.

For once, I might agree with a reader's assessment of power need -- the GTX280 might pull 180W each, so for a total system peak you mgiht conceivably reach 600W.
